Jangaon: A 22-year-old man, who was stabbed by unidentified persons at Kodavaturu Kaman in Bachhannapet mandal of the district, succumbed to injuries at Jangaon area government hospital on Friday. The deceased was identified as Perni Sridhar, of Konne village.
According to sources, the assailants first hit him by a trolley autorickshaw. As he fell on the road, they stabbed him in the stomach and fled the scene.
After learning about the incident, Bachhannapet Sub-Inspector Raghupathi rushed him to the area government hospital. Sridhar, who was staying with his maternal grandparents in Kodavaturu village, had moved to Hyderabad where was working in a hotel. Due to closure of the hotels following the lockdown, he had returned to his grandparents’ home.
Sources said he was in love with a girl from the same village. The girl’s relatives did not approve of their relationship and could have murdered him.
Jangaon DCP Srinivas Reddy, ACP Vinod Kumar visited the spot. Bachnnapet police have registered a case and are investigating.
