Worst hyperinflation hits Venezuela

Venezuela is now in the grip of hyperinflation, so much so, that the cost of a toilet paper is shooting up to millions that has an actual value of just $0.40 USD. This is the worst case of inflation crisis that the world has seen since 2007-09 in Zimbabwe.

Venezuelan photographer, Carlos Garcia Rawlins, took pictures of the essential items and cash needed to purchase them, to express the gravity of the crisis. These images are certainly shocking and also illustrate what worst economic crisis has done to a once-wealthy nation. One is left to be petrified at the thought of carrying a container full of cash for a handful of good(s).
