Medak: TRS Deputy Floor Leader and Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, who completed a year as Lok Sabha member in his second term, said that bagging funds for building new roads, widening of roads, bridges across roads was the most satisfying thing happened during the first year of his tenure. Raising various issues regarding Telangana in Lok Sabha, the TRS Deputy Floor Leader has raised over 80 questions during the past one year highlighting various problems and seeking funds for different development works undertaken by the Telangana government.

Saying that he has concentrated on containing the accident rate on Rajiv Rahadhari, Nanded-Sangareddy-Akola and other roads, Reddy said they have got funds by identifying blackspots on these roads to resolve the technical glitches. The Medak MP has said that they have made a video to present before Union Transport Minister Nithin Gadkari and get funds for the road works.

He said that they have also got the consent for utilising Rs 122 crore of NREGS grant. Further explaining about his work, the MP recalled his efforts to make the polluting industries located in Patancheru area to pay Rs 200 crore corpus fund to their grama panchayats so that they can take up development works and compensatory works to control the impact of pollution. Reddy has observed that the Rs 200 crore corpus fund would change the face of the villages in Patancheru.

Stating that they met Union Railway Minister Peeyush Goel seeking funds for rail-over bridge and Akkannapet-Manoharbad Railway-line, Reddy said he also asked the Railway Minister to allot the railway department land to State government near Patancheru so that the State government can build double-bedroom houses and a market yard.

Playing his part in setting up a medical devices park and making the centre allot excess land on ESI hospital premises to Transco, expediting the work of Kothapally-Manoharabad and Akkannapet-Medak railway lines are among the most satisfying works during his tenure as MP, Reddy said. Though the coronavirus crisis has temporarily halted some works, the TRS leader hoped that the Telangana government would put everything on track soon. The Medak MP also vowed that he would continue to fight in the House by raising the issues pertaining to Telangana to get more funds in the days to come.
