Warangal SR Engineering College gets 160th rank in NIRF rankings

Warangal Urban: SR University formerly S R Engineering College (SREC), Warangal, bagged 160th rank in NIRF-MHRD all India level rankings in engineering category and is positioned in the rank band: 151 – 200 in the overall category across India.

In a press meet held here on Friday,  A Varada Reddy, Chairman SR University, stated that SREC was the only college outside Hyderabad to have Tier I NBA Accreditation for all B.Tech programmes and NIRF rank in engineering and overall category.

“The other significant achievements of SR University include: All the existing Undergraduate Programmes (B.Tech) are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in Tier-I category. Accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with ‘A’ Grade, recognised as Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR),” he said.

SREC hosts a Technology Business Incubator (SRiX) sponsored by NSTEDB, Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi and it is the largest Incubation Centre in a Tier – II city in India. “Currently 43 Startup Companies are working at SRiX in various sectors, prominent being Agriculture and Cleantech sectors and in IoT, AR/VR, AI/ML technologies,” he added.

According to Varada Reddy, SREC is one of the 19 nodal centres with the best infrastructural facilities to host Smart India Hackathon 2019 (Hardware) by MHRD, and it is in collaborations with foreign universities: Purdue University, UMass Lowell, St. Louis University, University of Missouri in USA; Cranfield University, UK and Deakin University, Australia. The SR University will start functioning from the academic year 2020-21.
