Warangal-based SR Engineering College ranked number 1 in India by ARIIA

Hyderabad: The Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu awarded the ARIIA rankings for 2020 virtually. Warangal-based SR Engineering College (now SR University) bagged first rank under private or self-financed institutions category.

Minister of HRD Ramesh Pokhriyal and Minister of State for HRD Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre were also present during the ceremony.

ARIIA (Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements) Rankings is an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, to systematically rank higher educational institutions and universities on indicators related to “innovation and entrepreneurship development” amongst students and faculties.

ARIIA ranks are awarded based on seven parameters adopted by institutions for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in their campuses such as budget & funding support; infrastructure & facilities; awareness and promotion of idea generation & innovation; promotion & supporting entrepreneurship; intellectual property generation, technology transfer & commercialisation; innovative learning methods & courses; and innovation in governance of the institution.

“SR Engineering College now SR University has been consistently attracting talented students and faculty across the country. There is a vast potential to further our university in Warangal as the go-to destination for engineering, research, innovation and entrepreneurship excellence,” A Varadha Reddy, chancellor, SR University stated.

“SR Innovation Exchange (a technology business incubator) and our other centres such as NEST (Nest for Entrepreneurship in Science & Technology), Centre for Design, Centre for AI & Deep Learning, Centre for Creative Cognition, Centre for Embedded systems & IoT, Centre for Emerging Energy Technologies, Centre for Materials & Manufacturing and Centre for Construction Methods & Materials in the campus have aided in bringing student innovators, entrepreneurs, mentors, researchers, corporate leaders and academicians together to create an inspiring ecosystem to transform ideas into actions, ” said Sreedevi Devireddy, CEO, SR Innovation Exchange.
