Hyderabad: More than 40 US universities participated in the annual university fair organised by the US India Education Foundation and Education USA here on Sunday. More than 1,200 students and their parents attended the event.
The participating universities offered a wide range of academic programmes at undergraduate and graduate levels. The students and parents were seen getting their doubts on different programmes and admission criteria clarified at the event.
Information sessions to help students make right choice about higher education in the US were also conducted apart from sessions on student visa application process and financial aid opportunities.
Some of the institutions that participated in the fair include New York Institute of Technology, George Washington University, Colorado State University, University of Southern California’s Viterbi Graduate School of Engineering, Arizona State University and University of Alabama.
Speaking to the press persons after inaugurating the fair, Katherine B Hadda, US Consulate General, Hyderabad said this year’s fair had highest participation in terms of number of universities.
“This reflects the growing interest of Indians for US education as well as growing interest among US Schools to recruit students,” Hadda said.
She said students going to the United States would get world class education. About 4,500 different universities offer various programmes and also financial assistance to students, she added.
