Hyderabad: Two persons, one had studied till tenth class and another degree drop out, who posing as doctors started a hospital in Asifnagar area of Hyderabad were arrested by the city police on Sunday. The police seized a registration certificate issued by the District Medical and Health Officer and an Aadhaar card from them.
The arrested persons were identified as Mohd Shoaib Subhani (35), who dropped out of degree second year and is the Chairman of the Sameer Hospital and Mohd Abdul Mujeeb (42) who studied till tenth standard and is the Managing Director of the Sameer Hospital. Both of them are residents of Mehdipatnam.
Acting on the tip off, the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (west) team caught Subhani and Mujeeb on Sunday. Abdul Mujeeb had earlier worked as Managing Director of a hosital located at Humayunnagar in Mehdipatnam.
“Mujeeb obtained a Aadhar card with the word ‘Dr’ affixed to his name and using it, obtained a registration certificate from DMHO for running the hospital. Similarly, Subhani also obtained a certificate and the duo started Sameer Hospital,” said P Radha Kishan Rao, DCP, Taskforce. They started Sameer Hospital on Asifnagar road in 2017 and have been running it without any hindrance.
The duo were cheating innocent persons who visited the hospital and endangering their lives. They were handed to Asifnagar police station for further action.
The police are writing to the health department to initiate an enquiry into the issuance of certificate by the DMHO office.
