Nirmal: The Manager of TSRTC Bhainsa depot was assaulted by some unidentified persons with iron rods when he was at work in his office on Tuesday morning in the district. Janardhan sustained injuries on his right hand in the attack.
Bhainsa DSP Rajesh Bhalla told ‘Telangana Today’ that a case was registered against the assailants under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code. The process of investigation is underway to identify the attackers while the victim Janardhan is undergoing treatment at Bhainsa Area Hospital, and his condition is said to be stable.
The bunch of assailants barged into the office of Janardhan and attacked him by marking his face while he was busy with his duty at the depot at around 8 am. Since the workers are on strike, no one was present in his chamber at the time of the incident. Police suspect that some striking drivers and conductors might be involved in the attack.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police C Shashidhar Raju visited the town and said the government was taking a serious note of the incident. The attackers will be identified and caught soon, he said, adding that no one would be spared if they indulge in violence or damage the corporation’s property.
District Collector M Prashanti also enquired about the incident. Adilabad Regional Manager Vijayabhaskar, who visited the depot, said that steps were being taken to prevent recurrence of such assaults.
