Training programme on trauma care held in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Star Hospitals organised a two-day educational programme, Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), which is accredited to Royal College of Surgeons, UK, for physicians who are primarily responsible for managing critically injured patients.

As part of the interactive course, healthcare workers were exposed to a range of complete and adaptable trauma management skills relevant to all specialities. World-class experts offered comprehensive sessions on various approaches to trauma and its complications in different age groups.

The training programme comprised key topics, including pre-hospital care to acute life-saving care, transfusion medicine, orthopaedic, general and neuro-surgical trauma care, intensive care, acute psychiatric care, medico-legal aspects and special situations.

It also featured a panel discussion on medico-legal aspects, documentation, difficult situations and effective team dynamics with the extended expertise, including police and law. Star Hospital doctors said that ATLS was an all-inclusive trauma course and featured faculty from prestigious institutes across India.
