Top businessmen honoured in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Media should always reflect the reality of the society and never present their own views, said Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu.

Speaking at the Business Excellence Awards function organised by HMTV here on Saturday, Naidu said recognising the efforts of hard working people and honouring them with awards was an age-old Indian culture. Such felicitations would not only encourage the winners but also inspire budding entrepreneurs, he said.

“Our governments, including the previous NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, always focused on several public development policies such as four-lane and six-lane highways, road, water and air connectivity and encouraged honest businesses,” he said, adding “Governments have no business in businesses.”

Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said that there was an urgent need for more women entrepreneurs in the country and in this direction, the Union government was making several amendments in the existing labour laws.

The Business Excellence Awards for 2017 were conferred to felicitate companies, business leaders and entrepreneurs from both the Telugu States and aimed at recognising business excellence across private, public and charity sectors. Jupally Rameshwar Rao, Chairman of My Home Constructions Private Limited and G Ramchandra Naidu, Chairman of Amara Raja Group were honoured with lifetime achievement awards, while several others were awarded across 12 business categories.
