Hyderabad: An assistant director of the Telugu film industry, along with two students, was arrested in connection with robbery cases reported in Secunderabad. Police recovered two mobile phones and a Honda Activa scooter from them.

Kota Shiva Reddy (20), an assistant director in Tollywood and resident of Yousufguda; Porika Maharshi (21), a BTech student from Nacharam; and Seetha Vignesh Yadav (21), a degree student of Malkajgiri; were involved in two robbery cases reported in the last three months in the Tukaram Gate and Gopalapuram police station limits, DCP (Task Force) P Radha Kishan Rao said.

In November, the gang robbed a mobile phone from one Mondem Ushodaya Kumar near Andhra Bank on the pretext of making an urgent call. In January, they snatched Sarikonda Avinash’s phone in Gopalpuram after pushing him on the road. “They were identified using CCTV footage recovered from the areas where the offences were reported,” the DCP said.
The three, along with the seized property, were handed over to the Gopalpuram police for further investigation.
