Three women pickpockets nabbed in Hyderabad


Hyderabad: The LB Nagar police on Tuesday arrested a gang involving three women on charges of pickpocketing here.

According to the police, G Jyothi alias Erukala Kavitha alias B Jyothi (45), R Divya (30) and B Venkamma, were all residents of Saroornagar and worked in a tailor shop in the city.  With increasing complaints of pickpocketing under LB Nagar police station limits, a special team comprising four police personnel was deployed.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, LB Nagar, M Venkateshwar Rao said the gang was caught red-handed by the special team in LB Nagar on Tuesday.  The three women were involved in 10 pickpocketing cases registered in LB Nagar and Vanasthalipuram police station limits, he added.

Gold ornaments weighing 26 tolas worth Rs 8 lakh was seized from them, after which the women were produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
