Temple official from Jangaon in ACB net

Jangaon: The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials had caught the executive officer (EO) of the Bugulu Venkateshwara Swamy temple at Chilpur, Cheruku Jayashankar, red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from Vaida Ramesh, son of a former employee of the temple.

According to DSP (ACB) Kiran Kumar, the EO had demanded Rs 50,000 bribe for issuing the proceedings related to the job on compensatory grounds as well as releasing of the gratuity to the kin of Vaida Gopal, a temple employee, who died a year ago.

Mahesh, son of Gopal, had applied for the job at the temple, but the EO demanded the bribe. Keeping this in view,  Mahesh and his brother Ramesh approached the ACB and lodged a complaint against the EO Jayashnkar. Following this, the ACB officials laid a trap for the EO and nabbed him. The ACB officials said that Cheruku Jayashankar would be produced before the ACB court in Hyderabad.
