Telangana: Youth steals Rs 1.93 lakh to fulfil lover’s wishes


Karimnagar: In order to fulfill his lover’s wishes, a youth committed theft in an online shopping office and looted Rs 1.93 lakh. Though he had taken all precautions to conceal his identity, police traced him and arrested him at Mancheiral Chowk, here on Sunday morning. Police found the money and instrument used to open the shutter and locker.

Producing the accused before press persons, ACP, Karimnagar, J Rama Rao explained about the offence. On October 19 night, Ajay broke open the shutter of the online shopping delivery office located in front of Collectorate and entered into the office.

After entering into the shop, Ajay covered his face with a handkerchief and disconnected cameras’ DVR system to conceal his identity in CCTV footage. Later, he fled along with locker, wherein there was Rs 1.93 lakh.

Based on a complaint, one town police led by CI Tula Srinivas Rao began investigation and found the accused with the help of present and previous workers of the shop.

A graduate, Ajay is having an affair with a girl since his college days. Though he is a native of Rakurthi of Karimnagar town, Ajay has been staying in Bhagathnagar along with his lover. Both are in a live-in relationship.

After completion of graduation, he joined as a delivery boy in an online shopping company. In May 2016, the company transferred him to Ramagundam after promoting him as Assistant Manager.

But he continued staying in Karimnagar and attended work regularly at Ramagundam. Ajay had borrowed Rs 1 lakh from his colleagues in Ramagunda office to fulfill his lover’s desires.
