Sangareddy: In an attempt to encourage Urdu language in day to day activities, Irrigation Minister, T Harish Rao has said that the Chief Minister, Ministers and Collectors of 31 districts will soon start accepting all kind of complaints or applications in Urdu language.
Saying that they would soon start the process of recruiting of 66 translators, who will help the Ministers and Collectors in understanding and giving reply to letters received in Urdu, the Minister said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has decided to give utmost importance to Urdu language.
As a first step towards that the Chief Minister had declared Urdu as second language of State in Assembly, Rao has said that they would encourage learning Urdu language in Minority Residential Schools. Addressing the gathering after distributing 500 sewing machines to poor Muslim women in Sangareddy here on Sunday, the Minister has said that Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao wanted to bring the backward Muslims out of poverty by providing them best education.
Saying that they have set up 206 residential schools for Minority Girls and Boys across Telangana during the past three years besides taking up recruitment process for 2,000 teachers, the Minister has said that they have also extended Rs 20 lakh overseas education scholarship for over 150 Muslim students. Stating that the Chief Minister’s efforts to improve the lives of Muslims will start yielding fruits in five to ten years, the Minister has called upon the Muslim women to send their children to schools.
The Minister has also observed that Shadi Mubarak scheme came to the rescue of the poor Muslims, who used to find it hard to spend money on the marriages of their daughters. He also elaborated various development works took up by Telangana government for the welfare of Muslims. Rao has said that a majority of Muslims were still under BPL because the successive governments that had ruled the State had neglected their welfare.
MLA Chintha Prabahakar, MLC Farooq Hussain, Zilla Parisath Chairperson Rajamanimurali Yadav, Municipal Chairperson B Vijayalakshmi and others were present.
Earlier, the Minister administered polio vaccination to children at Government General Hospital, Sangareddy.
