Hyderabad: Engineering graduates are eligible for admission into bachelors in education through the Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test (TS-EdCET).
According to the order issued by the government, B.E/BTech candidates with mathematics are eligible for mathematics methodology. For physical sciences subject, engineering graduates should have studied physics and chemistry subjects to be eligible.
Last year, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has permitted engineering graduates for BEd courses and is being under implementation in the State. However, the government has officially issued an order on August 24.
This apart, the state government has amended one year BEd course to two years as per the NCTE guidelines. The GO has paved way for admissions into BEd colleges for the academic year 2017-18. An admission committee of the EdCET will meet on Monday to issue a schedule for counselling.
