Hyderabad: BJP MLC and Greater Hyderabad City President N Ramachander Rao on Wednesday condemned the Nalgonda police for booking a case against party president Bandi Sanjay for allegedly violating lockdown norms when he held a public meeting at Peddavoor in the district.
“The government is foisting cases against BJP leaders and workers in the name of lockdown rules,” he alleged.“Everyone has been maintaining safety fearing Coronavirus and there is no question of violations by BJP leaders,” Ramachander Rao said in a statement here.
The BJP MLC accused the State government of being partial while dealing with ruling party leaders including Ministers and MLAs while being biased in the case of opposition leaders who visited public places and markets.
Stating that Sanjay went their to Peddavoor to express solidarity with farmers who have been facing problems in selling their crop, Ramachander Rao said BJP is a disciplined party and its leaders would never violate lockdown norms to prevent spread of the deadly disease.
“In another case, police chased away and manhandled Nagarkurnool district BJP president Sudhakar Rao who visited Chaitnyapuri mango market to expressed his solidarity with mango farmers who kept their crop in the market. Later, Sudhakar Rao was also detained illegally for over two hours,” he alleged.
