Enlisting several schemes aimed at reviving farmers confidence in the sector, the Minister said that farmers had been assisted with insurance scheme for which the State is spending Rs 1,136 cr every year.
He wished that the coming decade will bring that change in the young men and women in the State.
Telangana farm sector is weathering the agricultural growth slowdown in the country. While national agricultural growth is showing signs of a downtrend, Telangana improved the area under cultivation in this kharif season in terms of Paddy and Cotton. Last year, Paddy was cultivated in 9.05 lakh hectare in the State, while this year, 9.28 lakh hectare is under cultivation currently.
