Written, directed and produced by Prakash Jha, "Pareeksha" is inspired by real events and makes a sharp comment on the education system of India.
The film is releasing on ZEE5 and Jha said: "I felt compelled to tell this story and I think a streaming platform will give this subject the reach it deserves."

The actor is all set to debut on Netflix with Tribhanga which also stars Kajol, Mithila Palkar and Tanvi Azmi
"Both streaming and cinema can happily co-exist. Each year we see the box office collections going up and we also see more and more people choosing to stream content direct to their homes."

Shah says if there is any revolution with the film, it will reflect later as change always takes time. "Our film is not a revolution, it's not even a rebellion.
The filmmaker, whose last project was "Jai Gangaajal" starring Priyanka Chopra, says he cannot make a film that is not rooted in reality.
"We have fought so hard to be allowed to screen this film legally in theatres, it deserves the best release," Shrivastava said.
