Jammu-Srinagar national highway
A statement issued by the Defence PRO here said on Monday that the army rescued civilians on the National Highway 44 in the Ramban area of Jammu when a truck they were travelling in turned turtle.
The official said only stranded vehicles, numbering over 4,000 will be cleared and no fresh traffic will be allowed from the two sides.
Trees prevented the bus from falling further down in the gorge. Around 35 people were travelling in the bus.

Snowfall has also closed the Mughal Road that connects the Kashmir Valley with Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu region.
"The pilgrims left Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas at 2.50 a.m. in an escorted convoy of 46 vehicles for the Kashmir Valley," officials said.
Eleven persons were killed and 30 to 35 were injured, many of them critical, in the accident, the SSP said.
No pilgrim was allowed to move to the Valley yesterday due to blockade of Jammu-Srinagar highway due to landslides in Ramban district.

The work on the 9.2 km-long twin-tube tunnel, which is part of a 286-km-long four-lane project on the highway, started on May 23, 2011 in lower Himalayan mountain range, and cost Rs 3,720 crore, officials said.
Jammu-Srinagar highway was likely to be cleared of the debris by the afternoon, decision on allowing traffic would be taken only after that.
