Suryapet: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Saturday instructed the officials to speed up the implementation of welfare schemes and development projects of the Centre in the district. The District Development and Monitoring Committee meeting chaired by Nalgonda MP and the committee chairman N Uttam Kumar Reddy was held in Suryapet.
Speaking at the meeting, Jagadish Reddy said that under Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited has taken up electrification works with total estimated cost of Rs 27.1 crore in Suryapet revenue division, Rs 14.7 crore in Huzurnagar revenue division and awarded the works to the contractors.
Minister stated that 33,695 new electricity connections of both agricultural and domestic has been sanctioned in the district recently. “Under Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS), works were taken up with total Rs 17.77 crores including Rs 7.8 crore in Suryapet, Rs 5.8 crore in Huzurnagar, Rs 5.5 crores in Kodad town”, he informed.
Uttam Kumar Reddy also told the officials to speed up the implementation of welfare schemes and development programmes of Centre in the district. “The officials should not show any negligence on implementation of Centre funded schemes and development project,” he added. He pointed out that the officials of state government would also have the responsibility in the implementation of Centre schemes.
District Agriculture Officer Kiranmayi said that soil health cards would be issued to the farmers under Soil Health Card Scheme by 2021. As a pilot project, a field exhibition was setup at 23 villages in the district to train the farmers usage of fertilizers based on soil health cards.
Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, district Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy, Huzuarnar MLA Shanampudi Saidi Reddy and Kodad MLA Bollam Mallaiah Yadav were also attended the meeting.
