Strict lockdown sees little movement in Warangal

Warangal: With the police enforcing the lockdown strictly in erstwhile Warangal, people remained indoors on Wednesday.

However, some people came onto the roads in the morning hours to purchase mango and other ingredients used in the preparation of ‘Ugadi pachadi’ on the occasion of Ugadi festival.

Roads in Warangal city wore a deserted look. In some places, police seized vehicles of those who defied the lockdown orders. In some villages, residents put up barricades using tree branches, thorny bushes and even iron fence to seal entry for outsiders.

Meanwhile, Warangal Police Commissioner V Ravinder held a meeting with members of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to chalk out plans to ensure that doctors and medical staff are not harassed by the police during the lockdown period.
