Nizamabad: Revenue and police officials visited Bussapoor village in the district on Thursday and condcuted an inquiry in connection with the social boycott of five SC, ST families imposed on them by the upper castes in the village. They hold talks with both the parties to resolve the issue.
The officials confirmed that Guradi Kapu Sangam leaders had boycotted sarpanch Mamatha and other families from last two months and not was not allowed to sold essential commodities to their families.
Armoor RDO Srinivas said that social boycott is a crime and said that it violates the rights of SCs and STs.
After holding talks with both the parties, Armoor ACP Shiva Kumar said that both agreed to resolve this issue. But SC, ST Atrocity case has been registered against Nagampeta Shekhar Reddy, Arugumidi Mohan Reddy and Koppula Gangareddy.
The upper caste persons in the village had imposed a social boycott on them in connection with a dispute over possession of land in Bussapur village.
