Hyderabad: Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited, Shivanand Nimbargi, on Thursday, said Hyderabad Metro Rail would become an added attraction for Hyderabad and people from neighbouring towns and cities would be keenly looking forward to board the metro.
Many people from different towns in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh would be eager to experience a ride in the metro and Hyderabad Metro is the nearest option, he said, hoping that there would be increased patronage during this weekend.
Addressing media persons at Ameerpet Interchange Station on Thursday, he thanked Hyderabadis for the inaugural day response.
“Two lakh passengers travelled on day one and without the support of Hyderabadis this success was not possible,” said Nimbargi.
Giving details of the day-one patronage, he said there was heavy traffic towards Miyapur station. Many passengers wanted to take pictures of the floral decoration made for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on Tuesday and have a glimpse of the Inaugural Plaza on the station premises, he said.
There is a constant vigil and surveillance to detect any untoward incident both on the station premises and the trains, he assured.
