Suryapet: Energy Minister G Jagdish Reddy on Monday said road widening works in Suryapet town were getting delayed because of leaders of some political parties who had turned into anti-development forces.
Inspecting road widening works in Suryapet, Jagdish Reddy said that narrow roads resulting in traffic congestion was one of the major problems being faced in the town. The people of the town were waiting for widening for the roads for more than three decades, bout earlier governments have not taken up the task. When the state government has taken up the widening of the roads in the town with acceptance of the shops owners, who would face loss, some leaders of opposition partied have filed petition in the court, which issue stay order in the case causing delay in widening of the roads.
Stating that decks would cleared for the works, he exuded confidence that works of widening of the roads would be completed in two or three months. To fulfill his pre-poll promise of elections-2018, he has persuaded the Chief Minister and brought crores of funds for development of Suryapet including widening of the roads. The people should be cautious of some political leaders, who were deliberately trying to create hurdles to the development of the town. He has also thanked the owners of the shops along with the roads for cooperating for widening of the roads. After completion of development works and widening of roads, Suryapet would wear a new look more than expected by the people.
District Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy, Suryapet Municipal Chairperson Perumalla Annapurna, Vice Chairman Putta Kisore were also accompanied the minister to his inspection.
