Revanth Reddy vows to fight against uranium mining

Nagarkurnool: Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy on Saturday said he will not allow uranium exploration in Nallamala forests and vowed to fight till the end if the Centre goes ahead with its proposed plan.

Addressing a meeting in Amrabad organised by the Congress against uranium mining, he demanded that the State government must cancel all permissions given to the Centre for uranium exploration inside the forest area. He said uranium exploration would not only affect the lives of 10 crore people living across the two Telugu States but would also pose a grave threat to the biodiversity, besides threatening the very existence of Chenchus living inside the forests.

He asked the people of the Achampet constituency to shun both TRS and BJP for their plan to explore uranium in the Nallamala forests.
