Suryapet: The villagers of Balemla in the district on Monday submitted a memorandum to Suryapet Municipal Chairperson Ganduri Pravallika Prakash requesting to shift the municipality dump yard located near the village.
The villagers brought to the notice of the Municipal Chairperson that the dumping yard poses danger to health due to its foul smell and leads to mosquitoes menace.
Deputy sarpanch of Balemla gram panchayat Chegani Santhosh, said household wastes and garbage which are collected by the sanitation staff in Suryapet town, are being dumped in the yard. He reminded that Balemla is located 10 kilometers away from the district headquarter of Suryapet. Stating that the population of Balemla village was nearly 5,000, he said that the villagers are facing the problems of foul smell and mosquitoes menace. The dump yard poses great danger to the health of villagers.
He demanded for shifting of municipality dumping yard to a place away from residential areas in order to protect the health of the people.
Responding to their request, Suryapet Municipal Chairperson assured them to examine their request and to take measures to solve the issue.
