With the lockdown all over the world, work from home concept gained momentum. The Covid-19 pandemic has drastically changed the perception of the companies to such an extent that companies are enthusiastic and they continue to experiment with the idea for a few more months.

Apart from the fact that work from home helps save costs and time, safety of employees is also being cited as a reason to support this idea.

Today the technology has given exposure to companies of all sizes across industries. Now with various types of communication softwares, it has become easy to work remotely from any corner of the world.

In larger cities like New York, New Jersey, London, Mumbai, Bengalure, California, commuting for two-hour to work is not unusual.

Cheaper internet connectivity has enabled explosive growth in online tools, allowing many white collar roles to be done at home and keeping managers and business owners in touch with their staff. Even some companies have an eye on how they will change operations even when the virus dissipates.

Though initially, technical hiccups such as connectivity, providing laptops to staff, proper infrastructure besides other challenges, which were faced by firms, but those have been ironed out within a short period of time.

“More than 80% of the organisations in India are now moving to virtual methods of recruitment and future technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation and Machine Learning, a report said.

Similarly, a study reveals that working from home amid the lockdown lead to increased job satisfaction as colleagues develop strong online friendship.

It is now agreed by experts and analysts that work from home would be the new normal for the near term.
