Nalgonda: Nalgonda Police on Monday arrested three persons involved in the murder of realtor Matta Saiadaiah Chowdary in Stay-in Lodge in Nalgonda town on July 20. A MPTC and his follower were also arrested for duping the family members of the accused for assuring them of no police intervention.

Presenting the arrested before the media, the district Superintendent of Police N Prakash Reddy said after examining the CC Camera footage of the lodge, the police identified that Bodi Venkateshwarlu (47) and Pannala Sathi Reddy (43), natives of Vallala village in Shaligowraram mandal; and Kancharla Jaganmohan Reddy (48), a resident of Nakrekal were involved in the killing.

Police arrested the three accused at Panagal by-pass road on the outskirts of Nalgonda town and seized knifes used for the murder from their possession.

The three accused had reached an agreement with the realtor to purchase 21 acres of land on Musi Road in Nakrekal town at a cost of Rs 1.25 crore and paid Rs 50 lakh as advance.

As the trio failed to pay the remaining amount to the realtors within the agreed time, Chowdary sold the land to others and completed the process of registration. As the realtor denied to pay back their Rs 50 lakh, which was paid as advance, the trio hatched a plan to kill the realtor.

MPTC, his follower arrested

Taking advantage of the situation, Vallala MPTC Imthiyaz cheated the family members of accused Jaganmohan Reddy and demanded Rs 3 lakh to save him. Reddy’s wife gave over Rs 3 lakh to Aina Raghupathi, who is a follower of Imthiyaz.

Based on the complaint filed by wife of Reddy, the police also filed cases against the duo under Section 420 and took them into the custody.
