Kothagudem: A rally in favour of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has been organised at Sarapaka in Burgampahad mandal in the district on Tuesday.
The rally was organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Dharma Jagaran Samithi and Bajrang Dal activists shouted slogans expressing solidarity to the NRC and CAA and appealed to the common public to support the act.
The VHP Khammam wing secretary V Suresh Kumar, Dharma Jagaran Samithi leader Subramanyam and others stated that NRC and CAA were meant to protect the integrity of the nation. But some political parties are spreading false propaganda against the act.
The NRC was first announced during the regime of Congress at the Centre. But now Congress leaders were venting ire against the NRC and CAA even though the Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserts that Indians would not be affected due to the Citizenship Amendment Act, they maintained.
