Hyderabad: Tourism and Culture Minister V Srinivas Goud on Sunday urged the Sangeet Natak Akademi to promote Perini dance, the ancient dance form of the Kakatiya rule, at the national level and also ensure that the one of the rare arts is kept alive for future generations.
In a meeting with Centre for Cultural Research and Training member and Sangeet Natak Akademi member Dr Tadepalli at his chambers here on Sunday, the Minister asked the former to provide necessary support to the State government to encourage ancient art and dance forms of Telangana State. He requested the Central government to provide funding for providing scholarships, pensions and other benefits to artistes under various ongoing schemes. He also requested for funding towards construction of mini auditoriums in the youngest State of the country.
The Minister was also invited to attend the centenary birth anniversary celebrations of Vedantham Raghavaiah organised by CCRT and Sangeet Natak Akademi at Ravindra Bharathi on December 22. The Minister responded positively.
