Sometimes, all it takes is one single piece of garment to define or redefine your style statement. You just need to get your creativity rolling and explore the many different ways to stylise the item. When it comes to that, nothing beats plaid shirts, for they can lend an edge to your look and can be worn in numerous ways.
For monsoon chill
The incessant rains can often bring the temperature down. However, it doesn’t usually get as cold as it gets during winters, so you can’t really pull out those chunky sweaters and jackets. Worry not, for the plaid shirts are here to keep you sufficiently warm.
You can wear it under a cardigan and roll the cuffs up over the cardigan’s sleeve. “Oversized plaid shirts are a popular trend. You can wear them with denim pants or shorts,” says Priyanka Sahajananda, city-based celebrity stylist and designer.
Tuck it in
This one simple step can make a lot of difference to your look. Be it a skirt or pants you are pairing your plaid shirt with, just tuck it in to look all the more chic. With jeans, sport a trendy belt too. “Just put on a blazer in case of a sudden meeting, to make the look formal,” shares Priyanka.
Tie around the waist
If a casual look is what you are aiming at, nothing can beat the style of tying the shirt around your waist. It is an old-is-gold trend.
“In order to look casual and classy, add statement necklaces and high heels to your outfit, especially when you tuck the shirt in with a skirt or jeans,” says the designer, adding that big earrings and sling bags also add to the charm.
