Hyderabad: Aspirants of government jobs can now pay examination fee through their mobile phone. T-Wallet, the one-stop mobile app of Telangana, added new features that would enable candidates to pay fee for examinations conducted by Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC).
To apply for recruitment tests, applicants have to pay examination and processing fee online. Earlier, they used to make payments through demand drafts and cheques. But now, TSPSC has been integrated with T-Wallet from Wednesday evening, enabling applicants to make online fee payments in a hassle-free manner.
“In response, more than 40 transactions were made through T-Wallet by applicants till Friday evening,” an official from the IT Department told Telangana Today.
Aimed at developing a complete ecosystem of cashless transactions in the State, T-Wallet has been integrated with the services of more than 10 departments. It is the single largest user payment application developed by any State government with a user base of over 3.45 lakh and transactions volume crossing over Rs 221 crore.
Unlike several existing wallets, T-Wallet works on ‘No Phone’ basis as well. Citizens, who do not have smartphones, can go to Mee Seva centres to open T-Wallet, load money (through cash or online transaction) and make payments using UID (Aadhaar) authentication. Further, it offers ‘any time – anywhere’ digital payment option with no additional charge.
The officials said new features were being added to T-Wallet in a phased manner, providing numerous options to users. Efforts were being made to develop the app into a bi-directional wallet wherein people can access and make digital payments for government services as well as transfer government benefits to people.
