Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has taken up demolition of a few structures at Kandlakoya, paving way for commencement of works on the service road connecting the Kandlakoya Junction to the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
On Saturday, officials of the planning body cleared two warehouses, one private building and a roadside dhaba, which were being operated on the proposed service road. Notices were issued to the property owners in advance, instructing them to vacate the premises. Along with local police, the structures were cleared to commence the service road works, said HMDA DSP (Enforcement) Srinivas Reddy.
HMDA has been keen on completing the Kandlakoya junction works to complete the ORR stretch. Accordingly, notices were served to the building owners to cooperate with officials.
Meanwhile, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) demolished an under construction building, which was being constructed illegally opposite Asian theatre at Uppal. A complaint was lodged by a resident, following which instructions were issued to the officials concerned to check into the issue. Upon noticing that building was being constructed without obtaining necessary permissions, the demolition was taken up, officials said.
