Nalgonda police to keep hawk’s eye on rowdy sheeters, habitual criminals

Nalgonda: The Superintendent of Police A V Ranganath on Thursday instructed the police officials to keep a close watch on the movement of rowdy-sheeters and habitual offenders in the district.

Speaking at District Crime review meeting here, Ranganath said the State government has accorded top priority to law and order control, and hence policemen should be strict while dealing with criminals. He underlined the need to strengthen surveillance of persons who have criminal history right from the mandal level. The Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) should supervise the task and ensure effective policing at mandal levels also, he added.

He instructed the police officials to act tough on illegal transportation of PDS rice, marketing of gutkha and ganja as also gambling activities. He also underlined the need to ensure effective investigation into cases by the police.

He said that the police should follow the safety measures during their duty in view of spread of corona virus. We might tough time in the next two or three days. The policemen should try to create awareness in the people on precautionary measures of COVID-19 in the rural areas. The people should be education for not to show discrimination towards Corona patients, he added.

He made it clear that zero tolerance would be maintained against the policemen, who would found indulging in corruption. Action would be taken against the police officials, who were facing allegation, after conducting inquiry.

Additional Superintendent of Police narmadha, Deputy Superintendents of Police Venkateshwar Reddy,  Anand Reddy, Venkateshwar Rao, Ramana Reddy and Circle Inspectors of different police stations were also attended the meeting.
