Medak: The historical Medak Cathedral Church, one of the largest churches in India, was decked up for Christmas celebrations. As the devotees from across the Telangana and other parts of the country started coming to Medak to celebrate the Christmas and offer prayers on the premises of the famous church, festive atmosphere gripped the premises of church. All the rooms located on the premises of church, lodges and hotels in Medak town were also occupied by the devotees.
The church was colourfully illuminated. All roads were literally leading to Cathedral Church as the people lined up to visit the Church on Tuesday evening.
Meanwhile, the business establishment came up all over the church ground, which attracted a huge number of people. To streamline the traffic and provide security at all the important places in and around Medak town, Superintendent of Police G Chandana Deepthi has said that they have deployed 450 personnel for security. Saying that they have installed enough CC cameras on the premises of the church and other important places under surveillance, Chandana Deepthi further said that they have set up a control room on the premises of Church to reunite the missing children with their parents. The Superintendent of Police has also called upon the people to co-operate with them by parking their vehicles at the allotted parking places.
During the pre-Christmas celebrations organised at Bishop’s bungalow in Medak on Tuesday evening, Medak Collector K Dharma Reddy, Superintendent of Police Chandana Deepthi and Bishop CSI, Medak diocese, AC Solomon Raj participated in the celebrations.
MLA sends cakes to 255 churches
Sangareddy: Patancheru MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy sent cakes as gifts to 255 churches located across Patancheru Assembly constituency. Reddy had been continuing the tradition since he became a MLA in 2014. Hiring the three goods vehicles, the MLA’s supporters handed over the cakes to pastors at the churches. Reddy also extended Christmas greetings to the Christian community in his constituency.
