Mass yoga programmes held in Karimnagar

Karimnagar: Third International Yoga Day was celebrated in a big way in erstwhile Karimnagar district on Wednesday.

In the morning, mass yoga demonstration programmes were held in different places. Districts officers, public representatives, government employees, yoga experts and common public took part in the celebrations.

Karimnagar Municipal Corporation Mayor, S Ravinder Singh, Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed participated in yoga event organised jointly by the KMC and District Yoga Association at Ambedkar stadium.

Collector said that India had provided a health resource to the world through yoga. Stating that culture of the India was linked with yoga, he added that all sections of the society should be made aware of yoga which helps the people stay fit. Children should also be made aware about it right from their childhood.

Mass yoga demonstration was held in Saikrishna function hall, Sircilla town of Rajanna-Sircilla district. Collector D Krishna Bhaskar urged people to make yoga a part of their lives.
In olden days, people used to lead a healthy life because of traditional treatment methods and yoga. Liberalisation, competition, and unhealthy habits were mounting pressure on people. So, people should practice yoga regularly for healthy life, he added.

Ramagundam Police Commissionerate authorities also organised mass yoga event at AR headquarters, Godavarikhani, wherein about 300 people including students, police officers and yoga experts took part.

Commissioner of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal, DCPs Vijayender Reddy (Peddapalli) and Jhon Wesley, AR Additional DCP Praveen Kumar, ACPs Apoorva Rao (Godavarikhani), Sindhu Sharma (Peddapalli) and others participated in the event.
