Kavitha’s win a foregone conclusion: Vemula Prashanth Reddy

Hyderabad: Minister for Legislative Affairs Vemula Prashanth Reddy on Thursday predicted a one-sided election in favour of former Nizamabad MP and Telangana Jagruthi founder president K Kavitha in the ensuing MLC election. “The election will be one-sided,” he said, and expressed confidence that at least 90 per cent of votes will be polled in favour of Kavitha.

In a statement here, he said Kavitha’s victory was a foregone conclusion. “Under local authorities constituency, there are 824 voters, out of which 504 belong to TRS. The 58 MIM votes and 66 independents will also be in favour of Kavitha since they have already declared their decision in this regard,” he said.

He wondered how the Congress, with 141 votes, would defeat Kavitha who is assured of 598 votes. “Similarly, how can the BJP with 85 votes compete with a formidable TRS candidate?” he asked. He pointed out that the locals were repenting for not electing Kavitha as MP since development of Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency had taken a backseat under BJP.

He said she would play an important role in the development of Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts once she becomes an MLC.
