Hyderabad: Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy on Friday slammed the Congress leaders for opposing the 4000 MW Yadadri Thermal power plant. Addressing the media along with Nalgonda MP G Sukhender Reddy at TRSLP office, the Minister pointed out that Congress leader Komatreddy Venkat Reddy had failed to realise the importance of the thermal project.
He went on record saying that the project would be closed if the Congress staged a comeback in the State. He wanted the Congress leaders to spell out whether it was the individual stand of the Komatreddy Venkat Reddy or that of the Congress State committee. He wanted TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy and the leaders of the opposition K Jana Reddy to make their stand clear on the issue. He said the Congress party was out to scuttle the progress of the State.
“Its intentions are very clear now. The Yadadri Power project had become another addition to the long list of projects sought to be stalled by the Congress party. The Congress leaders who were instrumental for stalling the distribution of the Bathukamma sarees in the State were out to stop the distribution of the Rythu Bandu cheques also and the farmers should be wary of their sinister designs,” he warned.
