Hyderabad: Muffakham Jah College for Engineering and Technology (MJCET) in collaboration with Microsoft Student Society (MSS) organised a two-day hackathon titled ‘Imaginehack’ aimed at exposing students to Microsoft’s annual competition Imagine Cup utilising Azure Technology between February 23 and 24, a press release said.
Out of a total of 45 teams from Hyderabad that registered for the event, 23 teams qualified for the final evaluation. Microsoft, which was the technical sponsor for the hackathon, issued certificates to all the participants and organisers.
The first prize of Rs 10,000 was awarded to the project Smart Farm comprising Sania Begum, Subiya Tamkeen, Nishat Tabassum, and Fauzia Begum. The second prize of Rs 6,000 was awarded to the project ROAR comprising Juveria Khatoon, Hadi Ali Farooqui, Mohammed Azeemuddin, Tabassum Sultana and third prize of Rs 4,000 to the project Bejewelled comprising Syed Khalid Ismail, Mohammed Fazil Ali, Ayesha Manzoor, and Syeda Ruqia.
The hackathon was conducted under the patronage of Zafer Javeed Sahab, Honorary Secretary, Sultan Ul Uloom Education Society, and under the guidance of Dr. Basheer Ahmed, Advisor-cum-Director of MJCET, Dr. Ferhatullah Hussainy, Dean Admin and Student Welfare, MJCET, Prof. Ahmed Abdul Moiz Qyser, Head CSE, MJCET, Prof. Syed Shabbeer Ahmed, Associate Head, CSE, MJCET.
