Hyderabad: The four-member expert committee constituted by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) inspected the Biodiversity flyover on Monday afternoon.
The Committee comprises S Nagabhushan Rao, Advisor Road Safety for World Bank Project, TS Reddy, Traffic Engineer and Road Safety Specialist, Srinivasa Kumar, Associate Professor (Traffic and Transportation), Osmania University and Pradeep Reddy, Road Safety Audit Expert.
The committee members studied all aspects pertaining to safety and speed control measures to be implemented on the structure. The Committee has been specifically directed to review the geometrical design, alignment and safety parameters adopted and safety measures provided on Biodiversity flyover.
It will advise on the measures to further strengthen safety measures, especially speed control mechanism, in addition to the ones already in place on the structure.
The flyover was inaugurated by Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on November 4. Two accidents occurred on the structure on November 10 (due to drunk driving by a car driver) and November 23 (due to over speeding at 104 kmph).
