Hyderabad Cop rams car into HMR pillar, injured


Hyderabad: In yet another case of a road accident involving a Hyderabad Metro Rail pillar, a cop was injured when his car rammed a pillar at Kothapet under the Saroornagar police station limits on Monday. The police officer escaped with minor injuries. No complaint was lodged and no case was registered.

According to Srinivas Reddy, SI, Saroornagar police station, the officer, T.Venkateshwarlu, (45), a resident of LB Nagar and currently posted as Inspector with the Communications Department at the Telangana DGP’s Office, Lakdikapul, had left his house on Monday morning on personal work in his Maruti 800 car.

“He was alone and coming from LB Nagar towards Dilsukhnagar. When he reached Kothapet, he lost control of the car and rammed the Metro Rail pillar. He sustained minor injuries on his nose and head. The car was damaged slightly. He left the place after taking first aid.” Srinivas Reddy said.

As it was a minor incident, no complaint was lodged and no case was registered, he added.
