Hyderabad: A person who was allegedly involved in 19 house burglaries in various localities in the city was caught here on Saturday. Three persons who received the stolen property from him were also caught. Acting on a tip off, the Commissioner’s Task Force (East) team caught Gaffar Khan alias Jigar, 25, a flower vendor from Yakutpura area when he was moving under suspicious circumstances at Ramgopalpet area.
According to Additional DCP Task Force, N Koti Reddy, Gaffar moved on a Honda Activa Bike in the localities during early hours of the day to identify locked houses.
“He would go to the first and second floor of the building and open the kitchen window and unbolt the door. Then he goes inside the house and get into the bedroom and collect the gold ornaments and other valuables from before sneaking out,” said the official.
Gaffar would then go and sell the ornaments to Bajranglal Soni (47), Sumit Chand Soni (24) and Rohit Soni (22) all goldsmiths from Ghansi Bazaar. The police recovered over 1kg gold, Rs 30,000 cash, a Honda Activa and three mobile phones from him.
