Hyderabad-based NGO celebrates Eid at quarantine centres

Hyderabad: On the occasion of Eid-ul-fitr, city-based voluntary organisation Helping Hand Foundation (HHF) celebrated the festival with Covid-19 suspects at quarantine centres in the city on Monday. The HHF volunteers made Sheer Korma, the traditional Eid delicacy, and sent it to Government District Area Hospital, King Koti and Government Nizamia General Hospital, which are used as quarantine facility for Covid-19 suspects.

In the last two months, the HHF has been providing nutritional food supplements and fruits to Covid-19 patients at District Area Hospital in King Koti. The distribution of essential food supplements was supported by the alumnus of St Georges Grammar School and implemented by the Foundation.

A majority of the patients in the quarantine centres are contacts of primary and secondary positive cases, and are required to undergo 14-day mandatory quarantine and cannot go home for Eid till their Quarantine period ends.

“We thought sharing a small joy with them will only make them feel better for the moment,” says founder of HHF, Mujtaba Hasan Askari.
