Hyderabad: Auto driver, owner booked for culpable homicide, arrested

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police arrested an auto-rickshaw driver in connection with an accident in which a nine-year-old boy was killed in Chevella in Ranga Reddy district. The police, who booked a case under culpable homicide not amounting to murder, have arrested the vehicle owner as well.

Investigators said the fatal crash which took place on March 5 was due to sheer negligence on part of the driver Ch Venkatesh (31), who allegedly had no valid driving license and drove in a rash and negligent manner, apart from in an inebriated condition.

As a result, the auto went out of control, skidded and thrown a passenger C Vishal (9), from Tandur of Vikarabad, out of the vehicle. The child suffered head injuries and died while under treatment at the Osmania General Hospital.
