Harmful sun rays, sweat stains, dehydration and tan don’t make summer a time to look forward to. But with these DIY body scrubs, say goodbye to all your skin woes and enjoy the season of mangoes!

Mango and oatmeal body scrub

Have fun by incorporating the king of fruits into your skin regimen. This scrub is perfect for all skin types and is made with just three ingredients.

1 ripe mango
2 tbps of oatmeal
1 tbp honey

Juice the mango and combine with other ingredients. The oatmeals is a good and gentle exfoliator. Mango, which is rich in vitamin A promotes the growth of new skin cells when honey moisturises and soothes. After using it as a scrub, leave it on as mask for 10 minutes to reduce tan.

Strawberry and cocoa scrub

Smell and feel amazing with this yummy, almost edible scrub (don’t eat it though).

5-7 strawberries
1 ½ cup cocoa butter
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup brown sugar

Mash/blend the strawberries. Mix the cocoa butter with cocoa powder and sugar. Combine the two. Strawberries contain alpha-hydroxy acid and vitamin C which eliminate dead skin, cleanse and tone the skin.

Saturated fats in cocoa butter heal dry skin and naturally hydrate it. Cocoa powder improves complexion and fights acne while sugar aids in exfoliation.

Coconut oil and sugar scrub

Although it is the easiest and cheapest to make, this scrub can still do wonders for your skin.

1 cup coconut oil
2 ½ cups granulated sugar or brown sugar

This scrub has a shelf life of over a year. Coconut oil’s antibacterial and heavenly moisturising properties paired with sugar’s exfoliating and softening properties make for a great starter body scrub. This scrub can be used for face and lips too.
