Karimnagar: Finance Minister Etela Rajender called on people to ensure that candidates of Prajakutami lose their election security deposits in the coming Assembly polls.
Campaigning in Parlapalli of Thimmapur mandal on Saturday, he said Congress leaders were of the view that they had sympathy among the public, but people were not ready to exercise their franchise in support of their candidates in rural areas. “On the other hand, impressed by the schemes introduced by the Telangana government, people were passing unanimous resolutions and taking the oath to cast their votes to TRS candidates,” he said.
He also said the TRS, in its manifesto, promised to enhance Aasara pensions to Rs 2,016 from Rs 1,000 besides reduced the age limit for eligibility for these pensions from 65 years to 57 years. Unemployed youth would be given an allowance of Rs 3,016. In addition, the TRS government introduced a unique Rythu Bandhu scheme.
“The TRS has again proved that it was farmer-friendly by promising to enhance the scheme amount to Rs 10,000 from Rs 8,000 per acre per year,” he said.
Eligible farmers who have not received Rythu Bandhu cheques need not worry as they would be given soon, he added. Stating that Congress bastions were destroyed one after another, he said victory of Congress candidates would just remain a dream in Telangana.
Rajender appealed to the people to vote for former MLA Rasamai Balakishan and ensure his victory with a huge majority.
