Nalgonda: Energy Minister G Jagdish Reddy on Thursday said that the state government was giving equal importance to welfare and development sectors in its agenda that ensured equitable development in the state.
Laying foundation stone for works of repairing of distributor canal-14 of Musi river taken up at a cost of Rs. 19.08 lakh at Kasarabad in the district, Jagadish Reddy said that Suryapet district has witnessed overall development including roads and infrastructure development due to keen interest of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on the district development.
It was only the TRS government, which has succeeded in maintaining balance between welfare and development during the financial crisis time also. He pointed out that the state government has continued all welfare schemes during Covid induced lockdown in addition to speeding up the development works particularly road works.
He questioned as to whether 24 hours free power supply and providing irrigation facility to the farmers through SRSP canal were not parameters to judge the effectiveness of the administration of the Chief Minister. He said that the members of other political parties were voluntarily joining the TRS by attracting to development programmes and welfare schemes taken up by the state government.
Earlier, he also laid a foundation stone for works of BT road from Penpahad to Dosapahad via Anantharam, which was taken up with Rs 6.23 crores.
