Khammam: TRS Karmika Vibhagam activists organised several programmes here on Saturday marking International Labour Day. SUDA Chairman Bachu Vijay Kumar hoisted the party flag at different places and addressed the workers.
He extended May Day wishes to the working class who he said believed in the labour of their hands. The fruits of welfare and development measures of the Telangana government had been reaching all sections of society bringing a new light in their lives.
Several trade unions affiliated to the Left parties and SCCL trade unions organised various programmes across erstwhile Khammam marking the Labour Day.
‘Labourers losing rights under Modi rule’
Labourers in the country are losing their rights under the rule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleged Communist Party of India (CPI) senior leader Puvvada Nageswar Rao.
The Central government led by BJP has repealed 44 labour Acts replacing them with four new Acts to help private corporate forces. The BJP government was handing over public sector entities to a few private corporate forces in the country, he alleged.
He hoisted the party flag commemorating Labour Day celebrations here on Saturday. Nageswar Rao said the Central government was resorting to anti-labour policies and spreading communalism.
The CPI leader accused the Centre of failing to contain the Covid-19 situation in the country. He called upon the working class to make collective efforts to safeguard its rights. Party leaders Potu Prasad, B Hemantha Rao and others were present.
