Nizamabad: Very interesting incidents occurred in municipal elections at Nizamabad district, out of seven municipalities in five municipalities, women were elected as Mayor and chairpersons.
In Nizamabad Municipal Corporation and Armoor, Bodhan, Bheemgal, Kamareddy municipalities women candidates were elected as Mayor and Chairpersons. Dandu Neethu Kiran was elected as Nizamabad Mayor, Pandit Vinitha as Armor chairperson, Thumu Padmavathi in Bodhan, Mallela Rajasri in Bheemgal, Nittu Jahnavi was elected as Kamareddy chairpersons and all are from TRS party.
Fair price shop dealer Dandu Neethu Kiran was elected as Nizamabad Mayor, she is running fair price shop at Nizamabad Municipal Corporation limits and is a science graduate. Kamareddy Municipal chairperson Nittu Jahnavi (25) is younger than other municipal councillors in the district holds an M.A, BEd and LLB and is preparing for civil services.
In Bheemgal municipality chairperson term is sought to be shared between two councillors. Mallela Rajsri will be chairperson for first two years while Kanne Premalatha will be the chairperson for the next three years.
In five municipalities deputy mayor and vice-chairmen were men. Nizamabad Deputy Mayor was Md Idris Khan while Armoor, Bheemgal, Bodhan and Banswada municipalities had Shaik Munna, Mohammed Ettesham (Sohail),Gunnala Bala Bhagath as vic-chairman respectively. Bodhan municipality elected Mohd Ehtesham as vice-chairman. He is Bodhan MLA Shakeel Amer’s brother
In Nizamabad municipal corporation one Congress candidate and independent candidate extended support to the TRS Mayor candidate. In Armoor municipality four independent candidates, one each from BJP and Congress joined the TRS.
